We're back from Oregon and Washington, where it's lovely, cloud-covered, and green, with so much rain this month that even the locals are sick of it. Personally, I found it brisk and invigorating.
Thankfully, the rain and clouds followed us back to the bay area. It's a great, wonderful day to take a dip in the hot tub.
Though it seemed at times that sickness and car troubles were conspiring against us, I love the Pacific Northwest. Favorite bit was probably the scenic drive Natalie and I took down the Scappoose-Vernonia Highway, and the Nehalem Highway, cruising our way through logging country, though the drive from Portland to Seattle came in a close second.
My thanks to
Also, I said I would give a plug to the Flower Garden Inn, a Bed and Breakfast in Jenner, Oregon where we stayed over for a night while visiting my sister's llama farm. Two very comfortable double beds, jacuzzi tub, hot tub, and a top-notch, expansive continental breakfast with an amazing spread of fresh fruit for $75, no tax... even less if you stay a few days. Quite a deal, and a really nice, beautiful, undervisited part of the state ideal for those who want to get away from it all.
Personally, I'm ready for another vacation, as I could use a bit of a break after such a long trip.
So, what's next?! The road never ends...
