Dennis comes ashore.

Looks like Hurricane Dennis is coming ashore around noon PST today, on a straight course for Pensacola, Florida. It doesn't look as focused or powerful as it could be... but the meteorologist I'm listening to seems skeptical, presumably because the model I'm linking to doesn't take into account storm surge or gusts up to 140 mph. The storm will be at around a CAT-3 when it hits land, and things are already starting to flood on some of the outer islands.

There will be contiunuous live TV coverage on WKRG throughout the day.

Although it's not a good thing to hope for, I find it very cool that one of the official hurricane names for this year is Hurricane Ophelia. It seems very appropriate...
