But that's not what we wanted at all!

Accute malnutrition in Iraqi children has doubled since the US invasion of the country, according to surveys by the interim Iraqi government and the UN.

Here is more information on malnutrition in occupied Iraq. Please note that these rates are double those of Saddam-era Iraq, where approximately 500,000 Iraqis were estimated to die as a result of sanctions. We could easily be talking about 50,000 Iraqi children dying a year of malnutrition, 80% of it caused by diseases spread by contaminated water, such as cholera... and despite this, studies of hospitals all over Iraq have shown that violence is now the leading killer of Iraqis, with approximately 100,000 deaths since the occupation began.

In other words, if you don't want to believe that approximately 100,000 Iraqis have died from violence and would like to seriously downplay that figure, then you should be sure to seriously downplay the evidence showing that approximately half that number have died of malnutrition, too. You need to deny the fact that people some people in Iraq are *still* go hungry and that those without power or fresh running water who are forced to get water from contaminated rivers might just have to watch their young children get Saddam's Revenge, fall ill, and die.

Cigarrette, mister?!
(Be sure to buy lots of bottled water, kid.)

What Keeps Mankind Alive?
(Weill/Brecht )
You gentlemen who think you have a mission
To purge us of the seven deadly sins
Should first sort out the basic food position
Then start your preaching, that's where it begins

You lot who preach restraint and watch your waist as well
Should learn, for once, the way the world is run
However much you twist or whatever lies that you tell
Food is the first thing, morals follow on

So first make sure that those who are now starving
Get proper helpings when we all start carving
What keeps mankind alive?

What keeps mankind alive?
The fact that millions are daily tortured
Stifled, punished, silenced and oppressed
Mankind can keep alive thanks to its brilliance
In keeping its humanity repressed
And for once you must try not to shriek the facts
Mankind is kept alive by bestial acts
