Out of the desert...

I guess my photography priorities kind of showed what I found important to me during the trip to Las Vegas. I got some great video of the fireworks, which I hope to have available soon, but here are some pictures of Las Vegas...

Ceasar's Palace?! Yeahright...

If you thought the Romans stole their culture from others, well... nobody steals culture like the people of Las Vegas. Just as well... they have none of their own. ;->

New York, New York. Rollercoaster, palm trees, and all...

This is one of the newest casinos, New York, New York. If A. ever misses NYC, she could always move to LV.

The famous malls of Venice...

There's something eerily American dreamland about this picture... this is at The Venetian, where you can ride a gondola through the famous malls of Venice.

Most of the pictures I took were actually of the Mojave desert... the hills surrounding the Mojave kind of remind me of the mountains surrounding Mordor. Dark, unnaturally steep, and really kinda interesting in a way. For a person from California, Nevada is like that, practically anywhere you choose to enter it. You cross the mountains and you're in the middle of no-man's land...

Interesting rock formations and strata...

Scenic vistas...

I wanted to make sure we stopped so that I could get a photo of my favorite street sign in the world...

The sound you make when you get your scrotum stuck in the zipper...

I once had a conversation with Roshi about odd Australian names for towns. I am convinced now that it has something to do with hallucinations brought on by excessive heat...

We left Las Vegas way too late in the day... again, the sun went down while we were going through the Mojave... but what a photo op!

What were the skies like when you were a child?

The skies always had these little fluffy clouds in them. And they were long, clear, and there were lots of stars at night...

They were beautiful, the most beautiful skies, as a matter of fact..

The sunsets were purple and red and yellow and on fire, and the clouds would catch the colors everywhere.

You don't see that. You might still see it in the desert...

And so we rode off into the sunset... goin' west.
