Being a soldier is a lifetime job -- whether you want it or not.

The Army is recalling John Wicks for active duty in Iraq. No biggie perhaps, except that Wicks is a 68-year-old retired psychologist, who may find himself away from his wife for possibly over a year.

I'm sorry, but the guy has done his duty. He should have the right to spend the remaining years of his life with his wife if he wants to. The least they could do is send younger psychiatrists over to Iraq and keep Wicks at home where he can help soldiers returning from the war.

Do we really need to send 68-year-old men to Iraq, slap body armor on them, and expose them to 127 degree temperatures? Screw that noise. Send Rumsfeld instead.
