Sabra. Shatila. Fallujah.

Only one team of reporters is in Fallujah currently. What follows are some of their pictures -- ones which are currently being broadcast across the entire Arab world.

And so I ask you, what is the greater horror? Four paid U.S. former-military contractors being hideously butchered, or..? These are just some of the more than 280 Iraqis who have been killed in Falluja. Many, many more will follow.

Of course, the U.S. troops haven't even reached the center of Fallujah yet. A thousand Iraqis could easily die in this brutal assault upon our senses and our humanity. An attack in which 300,000 civilians have nowhere to run to. Is this how we protect the citizens of Iraq and bring freedom, justice, and democracy to their land?

As Bush said, he is a uniter, not a divider. He's uniting all Arabs -- Sunni and Shi'ite alike -- against us. It is the citizens of the United States, however, who will find themselves the target of a seemingly endless procession of revenge attacks.

Bush seems determined to follow in Sharon's footsteps. Hopefully, they'll both be out of office in the future, and be forced to stand trial on war crimes charges. Only the harshest possible response to this hideous act will restore humanity and dignity to our country.

We have become like those we despise... emulating their acts of butchery on a grand scale. Innocence lost is not something easily regained; what new horrors will Americans be capable of after Fallujah? Our nation is stained with the blood of the innocent. It will not wash away easily.
