An evening of spooky movies...

It was a cold, dark night... so I warmed myself up with Tom Kha Gai and settled in for a night of movies...

AMC was showing The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Lovely, lovely... a precursor to all the great horror films to come, with some incredible German expressionist sets and some uniquely creepy characters. Tim Burton stole ideas from this movie liberally... but then again, so did everyone else.
It's not just the poster... the movie sets really do look like this.


Now I am at the computer watching Suspiria... online... for free! It should keep me in the proper mood...!
