It's Liebskind!

Huh? Yeah... Liebskind. This, incidentally, falls in line with my earlier poll on the matter, which favored the Liebskind design by nearly a 2/3rds margin..

The plan would use an excavated pit enveloped by the original twin towers' foundation walls as a memorial to the 2,800 people killed Sept. 11, 2001 when the World Trade Center was attacked and destroyed by hijacked airliners.

While it's not a building that I love yet, somehow I think I will really grow to appreciate it. People hated that tarted up French chick when she first graced our shores too... now she'll have a German to keep her company! It seems kind of fitting, doesn't it?!

I'm sure Dubya would appreciate us taking this moment to honor the invaluable contributions of French and German people to our country. If it weren't for their invaluable and patriotic efforts, we'd all be having tea and scones right now, and would have been forced to give up our slaves nearly 60 years before the Civil War... we surely owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid.

Officials have estimated construction will begin somewhere around 2005, depending on how long annoying local politicians choose to belabor the issue.
