Category 5 superstorm nears U.S. territory.



...and no, not this little storm. nearing Cuba and heading towards Florida.



I'm talking about this one. Super-typhoon Ioke. It's about to hit Wake Island dead-on with winds in excess of 160 mph. Approximately 200 contractors -- the island's only inhabitants -- are being evacuated. Given that the island's highest point is only 18' above sea level, which is roughly the same as the expected storm surge, we could potentially be looking at pretty much a complete wipe of everything on the island.
