the death of a thousand cuts...

Back in CA again. Been a passenger in cars a lot over the last week, so everything aches now. Yay hot tubs.

Seven Spaniards, two Japanese, two South Koreans, two US soldiers, one Columbian... the latest deaths in Iraq.
Given that the majority of the Spanish, Japanese, and South Korean people oppose having troops in Iraq, the end result could be the toppling of several governments the next time elections come, leaving the US with fewer strong allies.

It also indicates a surprisingly high level of coordination, intelligence gathering, and training for the Iraqi resistance, which seems to be getting better. The end result? 109 coalition fatalities for the month, more than any month during the war.
