671.2 miles later...

...as you may have figured out, I'm home again from Portland. Diggity-dig.

And it's 2:40 am. Can't sleep.

I wasn't very vocal this weekend, but I certainly thought about a lot -- not sure that all that thinking resolved a damn thing, but still...

I also finally got a chance to read all of the advanced copy of Cory Doctorow's Eastern Standard Tribe. It features some cool futuristic "IRC logs", as well as the shortest, most to-the-point chapter of a book that I have yet to read. It makes me want to put a gold star on it and hang it on the refrigerator door. On the other hand, EST also makes me more concerned about Cory. It's vaguely discomforting to me that a sexy woman always seems to betray his protagonists.

I went into the hot tub once already, but maybe I'll go again. Hopefully I can relax this time around. Maybe I will float on my back and stare up at the stars...

Hah. Not the only one.

Zeldman likes RSS too, and seems to think that those who are opposed to it are the ones who want to distribute all of their content through it, complete with umlauts.

You know what?! The way he defines the argument is starting to remind me an awful lot of the arguments for/against HTML. Sure, umlauts are nice, but it's all about the text, baby...
