Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Infocom text adventure

Anyone out there with fond memories of the old Infocom text adventures? Well, looks like the old Infocom game "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is now in Java and is playable online for free... now it they only had a way to save the game!

This was one of the first games I ever bought for a computer... I used to run it on an old Commodore 64. I now have a computer with 2048 times the amount of memory, but the games out there are surprizingly no better than back then. They might be fancier, but they are no where near as creative...

For those that haven't played this before, I dare you to get the babel fish!

Verbose? Maximum verbosity...

Kid A

Downloaded the new Radiohead album from Napster.
... um, I think I'm dropping by the record store very, very soon.
The thing that amazes me is that so many young people are so utterly rabid
about a band that is lyrically and musically creative, yet not noticeably commercial.

I wouldn't normally say this after listening to Radiohead, but I think that I have some degree of hope for the future... now if only the next generation could tackle some of the old, tired assumptions and institutions out there and snap them underfoot like dead branches in winter. That would be nice...
