Best anecdote about communities, ever?!?

On Friday, I was in L.A. at a special screening of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch", featuring an appearance by John Cameron Mitchell, the star/director/writer of Hedwig. There were others involved with Hedwig also at the show, including Mike Schmidt, the founder of Squeezebox, the club where Hedwig got its start.

The best part of the night? When Mike Schmidt said "Great things get their start in small, intimate spaces," John Cameron Mitchell grabbed the seat of his leather pants and spread his asscheeks, leering at the audience with a saucy "come hither" expression on his face. Such is community.

The night featured a full cast accompanying the movie, a la Rocky Horror. They were surprisingly good, in the same way that most Rocky Horror casts aren't.

So, do you have any amusing stories about communities, LiveJournal, or the Internet to share?!
