My webfriend dzdelirium was talking on her journal about her Anglophile nature... I'm definitely an Anglophile... but then again, my mom is from England, so I have a good excuse.

I said...

Well, just remember, English people have bad taste too... most of the things that you like best from England are probably not that popular over there.

Case in point... when I was 15, I went over to visit my grandparents over there. I kind of grew up on British shows and PBS, and I always thought of my grandparents as traditionally British... my grandfather and grandmother were very into mysteries and the British spy kind shows... that kind of thing.

Well, I found out they had one show that they never missed... The Dukes of Hazzard. Apparently it was the most popular American show in England back then... and Dallas was a close second. I was mortified.

EastEnders isn't my cup of tea... but I'm a sucker for Prime Suspect and Chef! I'm also quite fond of RobotWars, though that could be due to my techie nature or my exposure to Survival Research Laboratories at an early age.
