It's over, Hillary. No do-overs for Florida.
Florida Democratic chairwoman Karen Thurman sent out an angry email abandoning hope of a re-vote in the state:
"Last week, the Florida Democratic Party laid out the only existing way that we can comply with DNC Rules – a statewide revote run by the Party – and asked for input.

Thousands of people responded. We spent the weekend reviewing your messages, and while your reasons vary widely, the consensus is clear: Florida doesn’t want to vote again.

So we won’t."
I know that some are going to disagree with me on this, but... all I can say is...

"Good. They brought it upon themselves, and it does no good to change the rules in the middle of the game. End this charade already."

There could be a nasty floor fight at the convention, with demands that the Florida and Michigan delegates be seated.

I suspect they will be, in some way. I also suspect that they won't be seated until Obama already has the required superdelegate support, or unless the seating of the two states puts Obama over the top.

I really don't see this election being decided in the convention, though.

My sense is that Obama has been badly bruised by the revelations about Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Pennsylvania is described as having Philadelphia at one end, Pittsburgh at the other end, and Alabama in between. I suspect Hilary with soon gain momentum and encouragement.

Nah, Kentucky.. It's Pennsyltucky between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Philadelphia's mayor is a Clinton guy. Not sure which way Pittsburgh swings, nor how the rest of Philly feels. I'm a registered independent, so I don't get a vote.

It is also to Hillary's advantage if the independents can't vote in the primary. I'm not saying that a victory in PA would make much difference in terms of delegates, but she would try to run with it anyway.

Pittsburgh mayor went for Hillary too, but he's a 27 year old idiot who's about as popular as Bush is.

The local media seems to think Clinton is heavily favored in the Pittsburgh region. The governor endorsed her, the county exec (who wants to be governor) followed suit, and the Pittsburgh mayor (who probably wants to be county exec next) followed along, all nice and crony-like. What the rank and file will do I don't know. Unions are strong here, for what that's worth.

This week I changed my registration to Democrat so I can get a piece of this. I'll switch it back (to Libertarian) after the primary.

Hopefully, he hasn't been too bruised. In any event, he's doing the right thing by addressing it today.

Rev. Wright also preached to LBJ... which is, of course, very clear by LBJ's radical pro-black agenda.

Florida might actually redeem themselves a little with this decision, if they stick to it.

I was just about to say that, too.

WTG, Chad, er, Florida!

I agree. Florida wanted to move it earlier so they would have undue influence over the primary season. Since the party rebuffed them, it would be wrong for them to have a primary at the end... where they would have undue influence over the primary season.
