Olbermann destroys Hillary Clinton on Ferraro comments.

I saw this earlier on his show, and, well... ouch.

And if that wasn't enough, the only person in the followup broadcast who MSNBC could apparently find who would defend Ferraro's statements was Pat Buchanan... and you know, although I agree with Mr. Buchanan on a few issues involving U.S. imperial overreach, Buchanan isn't exactly the person you want defending you on matters of race.

In Buchanan's own prior words...

"Only whites have the appropriate “genetic endowments” to keep America from collapsing. "

What should Ferraro think when she has fallen so badly that she needs Buchanan's help?

Um. Thanks Pat. But no thanks.

If Geraldine Ferraro wasn't being so incredibly, blindly sexist / racist / partisan / all of the above to the point that she's capable of repeatedly overlooking just how demeaning and wrongheaded her comments were, she'd realize that her "supporters" on this issue aren't exactly doing her any favors, and that she is hurting the cause of women in politics, hurting feminism, hurting the combined aspirations of all minorities for equality, and hurting the Democratic Party.

She should apologize and go on a long haitus... and though Ferraro has specifically threatened Obama, saying that his campaign should be nice to her now, because it want Ferraro's help later with fundraising, especially with her lobbying company with deep pockets and deep relations, again, the answer should be clear.

Thanks, Geraldine, but no thanks. Your money isn't good here.

Hillary doesn't need any outside help at destruction. Team Hillary is self-destructing so incredibly on their own, they are truly taking down the entire Democratic Party along with it.

Is Keith always like this? He looks as if he got insulted personally.

I think he's taking the stance by the Clinton campaign kind of personally, in that it's something that Democrats absolutely should not do.

This is the *first* time he has ever unloaded like this at a Democrat. Usually, this segment of his show is reserved for the worst sort of Republican behavior. In some ways, it's actually measured, in that he puts the blame on Clinton's handlers, and not on Clinton herself.

Good for him! He speaks for a lot of people, myself included. I'm already for Obama, but her disgusting campaign is guaranteeing that I will not vote for her should she win.

Ha, I just posted this in my journal after finding it on MSNBC's site; I wasn't aware you'd posted it. I was, however, snooping through your journal to see if you had written any thoughts on Pennyslvania yet...

Not much to say about Pennsylvania, really. It's very much a state that should trend in Hillary's direction, in that it has a huge amount of conservative rural Democrats. It's not unwinnable by Obama, but Indiana and North Carolina are both far more winnable by him, and strong victories there should pretty much eliminate the possibility of Hillary Clinton winning.
