Misc. buzz and bits.
Looks like my site got mentioned by CNN, the Miami Herald, and the Houston Chronicle. Hm. But you know, a few days from now, nobody but the regulars are going to pay much attention to my humble little journal anyway.

Media churn is really fast, and I hear a white woman is missing somewhere...

I was also happy to see that the day after I leaked the new Army policy re: military bloggers and photographs, UPI did their own story on it, which was quickly picked up by military.com and the world peace herald. That said, why did UPI pull the story so quickly after releasing it to the newswires?

Tienes cajones, UPI?!

I am a Canadian and living on the West Coast. I have been following your website since the night of Katrina. Thankyou for your honesty. You are a very brave soul!The Canadian people are waiting to help!!! Those in a America who have formed your government should hold their heads in shame!!!!The truth is trickling in from websites like yours!!! Thankyou!
To send out an order to, 'shot to kill' the looters of diapers, babyfood and shoes...well!! If I were trapped in New Orleans I would be doing anything to try and survive! Mr Bush should be put on trial as a War Criminal!!!Fema should be as well!
My husband and I listened to the Mayors most recent interview...We will be letting all of our friends and family hear it!! Be assured New Orleans will not be forgotten and neither will they way your people were treated by the American Government!!!
I will be sending letter off to my own government asking them to tell the American Ambassador how we feel. Mr Bush has lost all of his credibility on the World Stage!
My heart goes out to you all. We are trying to organize clothing and food drives here on our island. Our local Red Cross has been innindated with calls to offer money and help. The sad part about this is we are helping the 'richest country' on earth!! Our government has offerred medical supplies and drugs. Our military offered to come in two days ago!!!! We can all help!!!

Keep up the good work and maybe we will meet you at a Mardi Gras...some day soon!!...

When I first read the e-mail they sent to what it appears to be everyone with a military account I thought I was being called to task. For a minute I was like, "Oh shit, they not only started reading me, but they didn't like my message."

The hundred or so pictures I've posted probably didn't help either.

But it turns out it was just a form letter. Despite the amount I write I do try to keep security on my mind, and that was the point of that letter. I keep security on my mind, other people keep it on their mind, but there are people that don't. And that's dangerous.
