Less scary than Cheney.
Christopher Walken for President 2008.

I'd vote for him. He'd win, too.

And he would have the added advantage of being able to read the future if he shook Bush's hand.

I, for one, think that it's about time we had Colonel Angus in the White House.

Well, you know...everyone has their pet political desire...something they'd stump for, if you will...and mine would be Colonel Angus in the White House. Hee. ;)

If the choice were Cheney or Walken? Yes, I would vote for Walken. I would kind of hope that it wouldn't have to come to that, but given that I've already got Ahnold as my governator, Walken would be a clear step up.

Ultimately, I want someone who is going to listen to all sides of an argument and make fair decisions, rather than cozying up to businesses, lobbyists, or anyone in particular really. Unfortunately, those most ethically qualified to be president generally don't have the motivation to seek the job.

Realistically, do you think the Republicans would run Cheney in 2008 given his health? I have a feeling that a more likely republican candidate is Bill Frist.

Personally, I don't think any of the Hollyweird types is suitable for public office. As acting does not require the same skill sets as politics especially at the level of the more popular actors.

In any case, I'd like to see someone a lot more middle of the road fielded for the country's chief executive. But given the current polarization of both parties suspect that it will be highly unlikely that they'll run anyone of that nature. They could both surprise me, and run Bill Frist against John Edwards but somehow I don't think that Ken Mehlman (Chairman RNC) or John Dean (Chairman DNC) would be able to overcome the supporters and leadership of Tom Delay et alia or Nancy Pelosi et alia respectively who tend to be polarizing influences in their parties.

Yeah...I'd vote Walken over Frist too. :) And the Dems don't have the balls God gave my toddler, so they'll run some milquetoast east coaster again...and we'd lose...again.

Bring back Clinton, or give me more Cowbell. ;)

And just imagine brother Duane, from "Annie Hall," with his finger on the big red button.

is that real? if so, are candidates allowed to receive donations from outside the US?

the US needs a good "public face" (which is what the Pres is, afterall). And Walken could do it.

I was about to say, Gimme a break, he's an ACTOR, but then again, so was Ronnie Reagan. Reagan did have experience as president of SAG and te GOv. of California. WHat experience does Walken have OTHER than acting?

I'm inclined to call hoax. Seeing as how Google News only shows one news source reporting it (http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=walken&btnG=Search+News) and it looks like that source basically just read the website.... and the site is hosted by some 3rd rate shared hosting company that mostly does band websites.

Then again, if it's real, he's got my vote.

I am pretty sure it's a hoax too, but it's still a pretty amusing one. The owner of the domain is someone in Florida, and I've never heard of his campaign manager.

That said, whoever did it took the time to find the name of his agent for the press release, so it would be kind of amusing if it turned out to be true. Something tells me that Walken could dance into the White House if he really felt like it.
