It would be funnier if it weren't somewhat true.

Ouch. Good thing Doonesbury isn't translated into Arabic, AFAIK.

Excuse me, let me get this straight. We are making fun of the poor souls that we have "hired" (out of no libable alternative, in most if not all cases) to enforce our occupation for us.

This is not funny. There have probably been over 5,000,000 poisonings of innocent people who will lose more than half of their expected lifespan to cancer (warning: photographs not for the squeamish). That figure includes more than 250,000 U.S. troops, if current trends continue. And I'm not even counting the wars of the Clinton and subsequent administration, yet.

Do the math. This is NOT funny.

it's called satire. the situation is absurd and the government and the media are trying to paint it as a normality and it is absolutely necessary for a progressive like trudeau pointing out the absurdity of it.

i really hope you are doing more than collecting statistics if you want to go around and accuse people of things...

I have plenty of proof, from the peer-reviewed medical literature. Who are you going to believe, me or the party that lied about tobacco for half a century?

brother! you're barking up the wrong tree. i was merely disputing the fact that a) trudeau found the situation funny and therefore was denigrating the iraqi guard and b) that people should not utilize satire in dire situations.

trudeau is an anti-war progressive and was pointing out the absurdity of the situation of making poorly trained iraqis put themselves in danger as well as clean up the mess the american military made. it's a fucked situation and trudeau was pointing that out via satire.

Okay, satire and parody I agree with, but I'm not sure the cartoon is very sensitive to the victims.

I wish the "coalition" aim was any better. Our uranium munitions burn in air to produce uranyl nitrate, and poison friend and foe alike.
